The Rangitikei River Like You Have Never Seen It Before
Wanting to share some of what we think is the best of the Rangitikei River, we have created this trip, the Epic Rangitikei.
This 3 day trip incorporates many of the highlights of our other rafting trips, both day and multi day trips.
These highlights include beautiful scenic sections of river with dramatic scenery, plus pretty (and comfortable) river side campsites.
However, what really sets this trip apart, is that it also includes rafting one of the best commercial sections of whitewater in New Zealand, the Grade 5 section of the Rangitikei River.

You will be on the river mid-morning and run a variety of fun Grade 2 and 3 rapids, stopping for a picnic lunch along the way. The campsite this night is situated just before the start of the grade 5 gorge section.

Testimonials & Reviews
“Just spent 3 days with River Valley rafting down the Rangitikei. One of the best weekends I have come across. We are definitely hooked on “Multiday Rafting trips”. Don’t be fooled by the Road sign off State Hwy 1 in the middle of nowhere that says 45min to River Valley Lodge. As the Proprietor Brian says, It’s actually the middle of EVERYWHERE – the center of North Island. The lodge was rustic with friendly staff and the dinner of roast beef and veges was superb. For those of you who love fishing, don’t forget your Trout License – plenty of wild Rainbows in the crystal clear water. Catch and release of course. We had too much food already prepared! All in all, it was a great trip that I can’t recommend highly enough. Thank you River Valley for a great weekend away.”
“River Valley lodge has it all! A family-run establishment, the accommodations are gorgeous (walls of windows in our mini-cabin, sleek and modern bathroom), the food is outrageously delicious (they have their own farm! We ate their chicken, veggies, etc, from right down the lane!) and the rafting itself was the most intense, hilarious, relaxing, invigorating experience, all at once! This is the one place in New Zealand that I would recommend to anyone making the trip. The owners of the lodge, the guides for the rafting, everyone there is an expert and is incredibly kind. 5 stars!”
