The Big Sigh
Have you been busy, whether traveling, working, or at home looking after the family.
You need something that is like a big sigh, something where you can feel a little at rest and watch the world go by, even if for only a couple of hours.
The Ambience of a Summer Afternoon
A warm late afternoon, the sun is dropping down the sky.
The shadows are just starting to lengthen when you arrive at River Valley Stables
There is the expectancy in the air of a fun, relaxing, couple of hours as your guide goes through what you need to know about your sunset horseback tour.
Group Size is Small
You look around and see that the group size is kept small and intimate.
Riding gear is put on, and girths are tightened.
Then it is off on the trek, the late afternoon sun painting the landscape in a rich hue of greens and browns.
Bubbles, Crackers and Views
At this point we are not going to tell you anymore, other than at some point bubbles and crackers and lots of great scenery are involved.
Arrive back at River Valley Stables just as the sun finally sets, and darkness descends.

Testimonials & Reviews
“Five of us went on the Twilight Trek and a great time was had by all. The folks at River Valley Stables are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. It was certainly worth the money and an experience we’ll always remember. Thanks from Wanganui and the USA!”
“We came here for a couple days during our honeymoon, tucked away deep into the canyons right next to the river is a beautiful lodge. We came the first day in between big groups so we had the lodge to ourselves. We did a beautiful sunset horseback ride, in which we ate cheese and crackers and drank champagne on top of the hill over looking the most beautiful views. We then came back and ate while talking to the extremely friendly staff.”
