Camping at River Valley Lodge
Duration: 1 or 2 Nights
Cost: $20 per person, per night
Waking to the sound of the River, and the early morning bird chorus.
These are the sounds and the mood of the River Valley camping area. The camping area is conveniently located adjacent to the Lodge, set amongst gardens and trees.
Campers are able to use the customer kitchen to cook for themselves, or join us in the restaurant of the main Lodge.
As River Valley Lodge is not a camp ground as such, campers are limited to two consecutive nights.
All Lodge facilities are available for your use, including showers, laundry facilities, WiFi (paid), and telephone.
We welcome both tenters and campervans, but please note that there are no powered sites.
Click on the Booking Link to check availability and to Book your trip.
Our camping area is primarily for the use of guests who are overnighting with us in order to take part in one of our adventures.
The River Valley Camping Area is not suitable for groups simply wanting a camping experience. If this is what you are after, we suggest you contact Awastone, a beautiful riverside Camping Ground in nearby Mangaweka. Phone them on 06 3825744
“I would recommend River Valley to anyone. Absolutely awesome place, and opportunities to do good things – and, of course, the river!”
I didn’t do any rafting.
But we did stay in a tent, and enjoyed the dinner and facilities, and a play in the river in my kayak. I actually was back there in October as part of the Women on Whitewater staying at Bliss Stick – but the staff were all away on World Cup stuff, so we couldn’t make use of your coffee – which we would have enjoyed.

I was just reading your blog and couldn’t work out how to make a posting so here it is:
I just wanted to tell you that I met my future husband Ian at River Valley lodge camping by the river back in November 2001 – we have now been married for 3 years and have a little boy, Jack, who is 9 months old.
We hope to come back one day to revisit our meeting place!!!
Not only a great place fro adventure but a great place to have a snog too!!!!!
