Where evenings were spent talking around campfies.
Where the days are spent under the open sky, on journeys of discovery.
River Valley Corporate Adventures are not about some sort of "Corporate Survivor" program however.
Roughing it is not part of the Program!
You don't want to be cold, so we provide great gear.
You don't want to rough it too much, so on camping trips we provide extra thick thermarests and good dry tents.
You don't want to feel hard done by on the food front either, so food is a focus with great meals.
Well all those features are great, but what is the rationale behind it all?
The Rationale and Benefits of Corporate Adventures
Working with a group of people in the outdoors can enhance communication, teamwork, cooperation and productivity. People are outside their normal environment and are often more honest in their dealings with each other, and themselves.
If you feel that a natural style trip is not enough, we can help by organising professional facilitators to focus your team on specific issues, such as management development, productivity, or staff morale.
Taking part in an outdoor adventure, especially one such as our multi day river journeys, can be a great alternative to the more standard executive retreats, teambuilding workshops, business meetings, and can be a great incentive.
Not only that, but these types of programs also provide an experience that is fun, memorable, and quite different from the normal type of meeting environment.
Company Getaways
Where an overnight river journey is not in your frame of reference, then a River Valley Lodge based program maybe.
1 and 2 Day corporate adventure programs can be arranged based from River Valley Lodge. On many of the activities we can provide a videographer or photographer to record your experience together.
Corporate Getaways are about fun, and the team work that can develop from doing adventurous things together.
Great for Business Social Groups.
Customised Adventures
Rangitikei Headwaters Expeditions can be something just a little out of the ordinary to entertain key clients or reward staff who have given that bit extra.
Rangitikei Headwater Expeditions offer a unique and unforgettable wilderness setting for a corporate adventure. Let us take care for you of the details, including travel arrangements, menu planning and customising the trip details, including number of days and any add ons.
This type of experience is especially suitable for members of a management team wanting time out together, or as a reward for a job well done.
Number of days on the river can be varied, but four is optimum for a good amount of both on water and off water time.
Multi Activity Corporate Retreats
Multi Activity Adventures are a sort of half way house between the wilderness experience of a Rangitikei Headwaters Expedition, and the single activity, team building or staff day out focus of a short stay at River Valley.
The program is based from the Lodge, with everybody returning there each evening. Activities include a mixture of rafting, hiking, and horse back riding, with the conclusion generally being a heli rafting trip into the gorge section of the Rangitikei Headwaters.
This type of multi activity program is especially suitable where use also needs to be made of the conference and meeting room facilities at the Lodge.
The activity options and number of days can be varied to meet the specific needs of your business

What specific features at River Valley contributed to the success of your business retreat?
River Valley location – absolutely stunning, and well off the main road
Lack of cell phone coverage was a real bonus. I have participated in activities in the past where people found it difficult to switch off. Here there was no excuse. The team relaxed and got on with the job of having fun, participating in activities and working through our issues
The River Valley team – they were great. They inspired confidence in the rafting but also made sure it didn’t seem routine. Great humour, professionalism and fun people to share a drink with afterwards in the bar
Accommodation and facilities – again these were above expectation. Great, warm rooms and an informal, communal bar and dining area where everyone had a beer (or 3) and compared stories. Also, a great meeting room with a breathtaking view of the river.
