The Grand Canyon Awaits
A Busman's Holiday
Have you ever heard the term - "A Busman's Holiday"?
Evidently the term first appeared in 1893, and of course referred to someone taking a holiday on a bus, who for a job also drove a bus, therefore having no break in routine. I'm a bit surprised by the 1893 reference as I would have thought that this was before buses were actually in use.
Anyway, minor details.
The reason I bring this up is that Nicola and I are off on a Busman's Holiday, except we are driving rafts (not buses) for 21 days on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. A trip that has been some 5 years in the planning.
Life at River Valley will carry on as normal with a very experienced number of core staff overseeing everything.
Of course this is not really a holiday, no, not indeed. It is in fact Research and Development - R&D, not R&R.
If I get a chance I will post some photos and impressions eitherhere or on the River Valley facebook page.
Have a great October.
