What is River Valley all about, and how can it help you?
Why River Valley?
River Valley was originally founded by the family on the genuine dream of sharing the remarkable landscape and river that makes up the Rangitikei District.
That dream lives on through three generations of family, and committed staff. On the river there can be over 80 years of guiding experience amongst the senior guides.
Stables guides eat, sleep, and no doubt dream about working with horses.
You could easily find Brian or Janey guiding your raft, or Nicola or Janey being your Stables guide.
It is this knowledge and experience gained through three generations that is at the heart of your River Valley experience. As the old proverb says - "Good things take time".

What is it to be, Adventure or Discovery?
Since 1982 when we first started as a rafting company, we have noticed that people broadly want either of two things in their outdoor adventure type experience.
For want of better terms we call these Adventure and Discovery.
Adventure
The adrenaline charged fun day out, skim across the top. Our activities that fall in to this include amongst others, our Grade 5 White Water rafting trip, our Two hour horsetrek, and Scenic Fun Day rafting trips.
For those who don't think that riding a horse is adrenaline charged, think back to your first time on a horse!
Discovery
The digging down deeper into the experience, whether it be finding out more about yourself, or finding out more about the flora, fauna, geology, and interacting with other people in the group. Our Rangitikei Headwater Expeditions, Full Day Horse Treks, Guided Hikes and Multi Day trips fall into this category.
Of course there is alot of cross over in these two broad categories, so don't hold on to the categorisation too tightly.
How does this effect you?
Are you looking for rafting or horse trekking adventures that are outside the norm?
Do you want to deal with people who are passionate and committed to what they do?
If these factors are important to you, then consider River Valley.
Guest Satisfaction
Customer satisfaction consistantly sits at around 90% to 95%, in both our Stables and Rafting operations. This has been unchanged for many years.
